Punjab Kings (PBKS) players in the dugout, including co-owner Preity Zinta, were ecstatic after defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Shashank Singh ended the game, and PBKS returned to winning ways in the T20 tournament.
In a video uploaded by the IPL’s official X account, the PBKS dugout was seen celebrating the victory as they chased down 200 despite major guns like skipper Shikhar Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma, Jonny Bairstow, Sikandar Raza, and Sam Curran failing to produce with the bat.

Contrarily, the Titans slip to sixth position, though statistically level with Punjab, their lower net run rate proves the deciding factor.

Punjab Kings beat Gujarat Titans in the IPL on Thursday by three wickets. Gujarat Titans batted first, they posted a total of 199/4 in their twenty overs. Shubman Gill scored a brilliant 89 off 48 balls, with four sixes and six fours. Sai Sudharsan hit the ball well. He made 33 runs from 19 balls. Kane Williamson scored 26 runs. He faced 22 balls. Rahul Tewatia played fast. He made 23 runs from only 8 balls.
Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for Punjab Kings, taking 2 wickets for 44 runs. Harpreet Brar and Harshal Patel picked up a wicket each, conceding 44 runs between them.
With just one ball remaining, PBKS achieved the required runs. Shashank Singh remained not out with 61 off 29 balls, smashing four sixes and six fours, guiding his team through the chase. Prabhsimran Singh scored 35 off 24, while Ashutosh Sharma contributed 31 off 17 deliveries.
Noor Ahmad was the standout bowler for GT, finishing with figures of 2/32. The remaining five bowlers took one wicket each.
PBKS will next host Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL action at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on April 9th.
