Noor Ahmad, a spinner playing for Gujarat Titans (GT), made a fantastic grab. This catch dismissed Prithvi Shaw. It happened during the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) contest. GT faced Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun JaitleÂy Stadium on Wednesday.
DC got off to a good start after being put in to bat first, with Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser-McGurk both scoring boundaries. GT made the initial breakthrough when the young Australian holed out to deep square leg in the fourth over, and Shaw suffered the same fate a few deliveries later.
Shaw attempted a pull shot off Sandeep Warrier’s bowling but could not connect well enough. For a minute, it appeared to be a gift in disguise, since it was well ahead of Noor Ahmad, who was called into action once more. However, the spinner covered a lot of ground quickly, dived forward at an angle, and caught the ball.
Ahmad wasn’t sure if he took the catch cleanly, so the on-field umpires decided to let the third umpire make the final call. Akshay Totre examined the catch from various angles and determined that the fingers of Ahmad’s right hand were beneath the ball, claiming it to be a clean take, despite the lack of definitive proof.
Without a soft signal in place, the third umpire had no specific reference or inputs other than visual evidence.

Rashid Khan Emulates Noor Ahmad’s Brilliance with Spectacular Catch for DC’s Third Wicket of the Evening
GT have been on point on the powerplay, particularly in the second half of the period, reducing the home side from 35/0 to 44/3 in rapid succession. Fielding had a significant role in the early collapse, which featured two difficult opportunities.
After Noor Ahmad made a great grab to eliminate Prithvi Shaw, his countryman Rashid Khan equaled his effort in the waning stages of the powerplay. The leg-spinner made a fantastic catch after sprinting in from deep point to remove Shai Hope, giving Sandeep Warrier his third wicket of the match.
