Nicholas Pooran, an aggressive hitter for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), struck the equal biggest six of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) so far, landing the ball 106 meters away off Reece Topley. Pooran made an important cameo of 40* off 21 deliveries against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.
LSG were in desperate need of runs to finish the innings after RCB replied well in the final overs. Pooran led the assault in the last over, hitting Topley’s full toss deliveries for sixes to build momentum.
The six came in the third delivery of the over, as the left-arm pacer attempted to confuse the red-hot batter with a slow delivery. Nicholas Pooran, on the other hand, was waiting for it and yanked it as hard as he could towards midwicket. As a consequence, the ball landed on the roof and cleared the stadium. The shot was then quickly determined to be 106 meters long.
Take a peek at the great hit here:
Nicholas Pooran, who was dropped off Topley’s bowling by Anuj Rawat in the 17th over, struck two more sixes against Mohammed Siraj in the final over to take LSG’s total to 181/5 in 20 overs.
