Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) seamer Naveen-ul-Haq dismissed Phil Salt after the Kolkata Knight Riders made a strong start in the current IPL 2024 battle at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. However, the Englishman had caused serious damage before leaving.
The dismissal came in the fifth over of the innings, when Naveen rebounded from a first-ball boundary by the powerful opener. The Afghan seamer used a slower delivery, and the right-hander attempted to get over the off-side but only got an edge. KL Rahul dove to grab the ball as the 27-year-old walked back for 32 from 14 deliveries. The breakthrough brought an end to Narine’s 61-run opening wicket partnership.

The match was played at the Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. The Super Giants team scored 161 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.
Despite losing Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi for single-figure scores, the Englishman responded with full force. The home team smashed the objective with 28 balls remaining.
Both Kolkata and Lucknow have demonstrated consistency and are poised to secure a top four spot. However, the two will be trying to win tonight to secure their playoff berth, with other clubs vying for the same. Kolkata ended their lengthy losing record against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The Super Giants also defeated Mumbai in their most recent match.
