Pacer Mukesh Kumar of Team India said he does his best to mentor and help up-and-coming cricketers in his birthplace in the Gopalganj region of Bihar. He continued by saying that as part of his project, he has even given some bowling spikes to these young people.
Mukesh Kumar joined the Indian team in all games on their latest trip to South Africa. While he didn’t bag many outs, his cool-headedness in tense moments was noteworthy.
As Gopalganj’s premiere cricket star, this bowler shines in the district. He’s 30, and eager to aid future cricket stars in their journey.
“Yes, when I go back to Gopalganj youngsters come and speak to me and ask me about their game and seek guidance. I do try and help them as much as I can. I have gifted a few bowling spikes to them,” the right-arm pacer was quoted as telling news agency PTI.

Mukesh reflected on his difficult journey to the top, which included spending a considerable amount of time living in the dormitory at Eden Gardens, and said it had been a worthwhile learning experience.
“Patience and process were two aspects that I always concentrated upon. Also all tips given by my coaches from formative years have come in handy.”

Mukesh’s dad, a Kolkata cab driver, hoped for his son to join the CISF (Central Industrial Security Force). Sadly, Mukesh didn’t ace the physical exam. Later on, he found his love for cricket. He really focused on improving his bowling ability.

The Indian medium pacer first showed his skills internationally in July 2023. His record includes two Tests, six ODIs, and 11 T20Is.
When questioned about moving from local to international cricket, the Bengal pacer shared that flexibility is the secret.
“When you play for the country, you need to adapt and adjust to various formats. If you are playing white ball and need to play Test matches after that, then you also simultaneously need to practice with red ball.”
