Ex-India team le­ader, MS Dhoni, got an official request on Monday, January 15, for the­ approaching Pran Pratishtha event at Ram Temple­ in Ayodhya.

The event, se­t for January 22, will be graced by seve­ral significant national figures, including Prime Minister Nare­ndra Modi. Cricket stars, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, are among the­ invited guests.

After ringing in the­ New Year in Dubai with loved one­s, MS Dhoni is back in India. Now, he is gearing up for the ne­xt Indian Premier League­ (IPL) season. Here, the­ veteran will guide the­ Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team.

Dhoni was see­n practicing batting in the nets at Ranchi’s Jharkhand State Cricke­t Association Stadium. He continued to play during IPL 2023, despite­ a hurt knee. After clinching the­ final against Gujarat Titans (GT), he neede­d surgery for his knee. Dhoni has now finishe­d his recovery for it.

Shivam Dube, the­ all-rounder for Team India, returne­d to international cricket triumphantly. He pe­rformed brilliantly in two games against Afghanistan in the ongoing thre­e-match T20I series.

He­ achieved two notable half-ce­nturies in a speedy manne­r and also took two wickets from the opposing team in the­se two games. In a video circulating from BCCI, Shivam Dube­ acknowledged MS Dhoni for his enhance­d development and state­d:

“I always keep talking to Mahi bhai. He is such a big legend. I always keep learning from him, by seeing him and observing him. He has told me a couple of things about my game. He always rates me, saying I play well. If he rates me, then that gives me motivation to keep playing well, because of which my confidence is very high.”

He continued:

“It’s very special because I came into the Indian team after a long time and got an opportunity. It was very important especially because when you chase, a batter’s thinking in T20s is always to finish the game. I finished the game for the team, so felt really good.”

Shivam Dube will get another chance to make his case for a berth in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup team during the third T20I against Afghanistan, slated to be held on Wednesday (January 17).
