MS Dhoni came out to bat in the 18th over, following Ruturaj Gaikwad’s dismissal. The veteran was charged with closing the innings in style after CSK’s middle overs were dominated by the PBKS spinners.
In the last over, Dhoni was taken by surprise when Rahul Chahar was handed the ball. The leg-spinner held Dhoni to one run off three deliveries.
Faced with a torrent of full tosses from Arshdeep Singh in the last over, Dhoni hit a classic six off the penultimate ball and tried a fast double off the final delivery to give CSK a modest final boost to their total. Daryl Mitchell easily finished the runs at the other end, but Dhoni battled on the second run as he ran towards the danger end.
