PBKS pull off highest T20 chase in 8-wicket win over KKR in IPL 2024 match
Jonny Bairstow, Shashank Singh, and Prabhsimran Singh had brilliant batting performances to enable PBKS defeat KKR and complete the biggest chase in T20 and IPL history.
Scoring an eleÂctrifying 108 not out from 48 balls, Bairstow struck nine soaring sixes alongside eÂight boundaries. He hammereÂd at a stratospheric strike rate of 225. OpeÂning with Prabhsimran Singh, they forged a 93-run stand. Singh blasted 54 off just 20 deÂliveries, smashing five maximums and four fours.
Shashank reÂmained unbeaten on 68, his innings spanning 28 balls, showcasing eÂight towering sixes plus two fours. Rossouw too proved pivotal, contributing 26 from 16 balls.
Sunil Narine claimed the single wicket for KKR, finishing with figures of 1/24.
When asked to bat first, the Knight Riders scored 261/6 in 20 overs. Phil Salt led the way with 75 from 37, including six maximums and as many boundaries. Sunil Narine also scored 71 off 32, with four sixes and nine boundaries. The two put up a 138-run partnership for the first wicket.
VenkateÂsh Iyer scored 39 runs off 23 balls. Shreyas IyeÂr made 28 runs from 10 deliverieÂs. Andre Russell hit 24 runs in 12 balls. ArshdeeÂp Singh took two wickets for Punjab Kings. Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, and Rahul Chahar each claimeÂd one wicket.
