On a captivating Friday evening at the renowned Wankhede Stadium Mumbai Indians (MI) showcased their prowess by clinching a phenomenal team hattrick against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the thrilling IPL 2024 matchup. This extraordinary moment transpired at the transition from the 17th to the 18th over during the initial innings.
Nuwan Thushara, a slinging fast bowler, got things started on the fifth delivery of the 17th over by taking Nicholas Pooran’s wicket. He then returned Arshad Khan on the following ball, reducing LSG to 178/5. Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla followed, dismissing Lucknow skipper KL Rahul on the first ball of the 18th over to clinch the team’s hat-trick.

MI Conclude IPL 2024 Campaign with 18-Run Defeat to LSG
Mumbai Indians journey under the helm of their new leader Hardik Pandya began disappointingly culminating at the bottom of the points table with just 8 points from 14 games. In their final league match on Friday (May 17) LSG emerged victorious over MI by 18 runs.
