Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav of Team India met famous actor Rajinikanth in Mumbai. The superstar attended the first India-Australia ODI in Mumbai after accepting an invitation from the Mumbai Cricket Association. After the top order collapsed, India won the match by five wickets with a match-winning 108-run partnership between KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja.
Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav and other Team India members like Washington Sundar had the opportunity to meet Rajinikanth. Kuldeep showed fans the meeting by sharing photos on his official Instagram handle. In the post’s caption, he wrote:
Kuldeep Yadav Takes One Wicket in 1st ODI Against Australia.
India won the toss and elected to field first. Australia could only score 188 runs before getting bowled out, thanks to a superb performance by the Indian bowling unit.
Leading the attack were Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj, who both claimed three wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav (1/48) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/46) also supported the pacers by taking crucial wickets during the middle overs.
In a YouTube video where he reviewed India’s bowling performance, Aakash Chopra praised Mohammad Shami, calling him “brilliant” and noting how his well-released seam caused the ball to continue moving even after pitching, often deceiving the batsmen. While Mohammed Siraj didn’t have his best game, Chopra acknowledged that he still took three wickets. Despite the pitch not offering much support for spinners, Chopra pointed out that India’s spin duo still managed to take three wickets, with Ravindra Jadeja claiming two and Kuldeep Yadav taking one.
On Sunday, March 19, India and Australia are set to clash in the second ODI, which will take place in Visakhapatnam.
