Recently, KL Rahul, Team India’s wicket-keeper batter, took some pictures at a beautiful spot in Cape Town. He was joined by his wife, Athiya Shetty, during his break from cricket.
The face-off of two games concluded with a tie, 1-1, and both teams with equal honors as of Thursday, January 4. The first Test was conquered by South Africa in Centurion, defeating India by innings and 32 runs, all in three days. India didn’t hang heads, though, bouncing back brilliantly. They triumphed over South Africa, winning by seven wickets in just two days in Cape Town, thus drawing the series.

KL Rahul made a big impact in this series. Serving as a middle-order, wicket-keeper batter was a change for him in Test matches. Nonetheless, he aced it! He knocked out a brilliant century in his initial innings at the Centurion Test, batting as the sixth. He left everyone amazed with his performance in the fresh position.
In the second Test, he performed admirably as a wicketkeeper behind the stumps, missing only one easy catch in Aiden Markram. It enabled Markram to complete his century and helped India reach their ultimate objective by a few runs.
In the final two days of the Test in Cape Town, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty ventured out to take in the picturesque surroundings of the city. By posting pictures on his Instagram page, he offered his supporters a preview.
“Just play me in the XI”: KL Rahul’s simple request to the management on his role

KL Rahul had a chat on Star Sports. It was after the second Test against South Africa. He talked about his communication with team management. They talked about playing various roles in different formats. Rahul stated that he is all ears for their ideas. It’s satisfying to him as long as he stays a part of the team. He said this regarding the situation:
“When they ask me to do any job, I just tell them to play me in the XI, wherever they play me. I want to play matches. Unfortunately, I have missed a lot of matches because of injury. Not just this injury (thigh injury he sustained in IPL 2023) but I have been injured quite a lot. Looking back, I am 31 now but have been playing for the country since I was 22.”

KL Rahul continued:
“However, if you see the matches, I haven’t played much. Obviously, I had to wait my turn when (Murali) Vijay and Shikhar (Dhawan) were playing, and then Rohit (Sharma) and Shikhar were playing in ODI cricket. So I had to wait for a lot of time and when I used to get chances, I used to get injured. So I have really missed out on a lot of cricket.”
