Khaleel Ahmed started brilliantly for Delhi Capitals versus Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match at Vizag on Sunday (March 31). The left-arm bowler dismissed captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (one off two balls) and Rachin Ravindra (two off 12 deliveries) for single digits, leaving the Super Kings reeling at 7/2 after 2.5 overs.
The dismissals occurred in the first and third overs, respectively. Khaleel Ahmed first dismissed Gaikwad with a length ball from off that went into the right-hander. The ball got a little edge on its way to the wicketkeeper, and Rishabh Pant made an easy catch.
In his second over, Khaleel Ahmed bowled a short delivery that shaped away from Ravindra’s left hand. He attempted a relief shot but ended up playing over the line and top-edged it over the bowler’s head before Tristan Stubbs rushed to his left at mid-off to make the well-timed catch.
