A South African spinner named Keshav Maharaj went to the Ram Mandir. This is a famous temple in Ayodhya, India. He went there to pray before playing cricket. The Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season is coming up soon.
Keshav Maharaj joined the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team. But the team said he won’t play matches. He’ll just train with them. Maharaj is 34 years old and bowls with his left arm.
Following the Pran Pratishtha event at Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the veteran cricketer issued a special message for Indian fans, expressing his wish to offer prayers at the temple.
Keshav Maharaj uploaded a snap on Instagram on Thursday, the 21st of March. It was from his recent trip. His caption read:
It’s worth noting that the song ‘Ram Siya Ram’ was played throughout the stadium everytime Keshav Maharaj stepped out to bat during South Africa’s home series against India in December. He said that he had instructed the media guy to play the devotional music.
LSG spinner Ravi Bishnoi also sought Lord Ram’s blessing ahead of IPL 2024
Ravi Bishnoi, an LSG leg-spinner, also visited the Ayodhya Ram Mandir ahead of the IPL 2024. The skilled bowler posted a photo on Instagram showing him praying at the historic shrine.
Bishnoi captioned her post:
Bishnoi was LSG’s highest wicket-taker in IPL 2023, with 16 wickets from 14 innings and an exceptional economy rate of 7.74. Lucknow qualified for the playoffs by placing third in the points tally after the league stage.
However, their season came to an end with a painful 81-run defeat to the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator. Chasing a challenging 183-run goal, they were bundled out for a mere 101.
Lucknow will play their first IPL 2024 match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday, March 24 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
