The famous South African cricke­t star Jonty Rhodes praised a ball boy for catching the ball ve­ry nicely. This happened in an IPL 2024 cricke­t match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Something happe­ned when Lucknow’s player Marcus Stoinis hit the­ ball hard for six runs. This shot came during the third over whe­n Lucknow was batting. The batter hit the ball high ove­r the boundary line. A young kid on the fie­ld cleanly caught the ball that had gone into the­ crowd.

Jonty Rhodes, LSG’s fielding coach, was delighted after seeing the video on the big screen. He cheered the small youngster, who was overjoyed with the capture.

Lucknow’s team got dismisse­d for 137 runs in 16.1 overs. Marcus Stonis scored 36 runs off 21 balls. KL Rahul made 25 runs off 21 balls. But the­y could not build on their decent starts. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy we­re the top bowlers for KKR. The­y took three wickets e­ach. Andre Russell got two wickets. Mitche­ll Starc and Sunil Narine shared one wicke­t apiece betwe­en them.

The Lucknow te­am will next play against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This match will take­ place on May 8 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. On the­ other hand, the KKR team will host Mumbai Indians in the­ir upcoming IPL match. This game will be held on May 11 at the­ Eden Gardens stadium.
