Bumrah, in an effort to retaliate, altered his length. He successfully tricked him, causing the ball to strike the batsman on his thigh.
Pope was attempting to switch positions with non-striker Rehan Ahmed. Interestingly, he ran into Jasprit Bumrah. Jasprit seemed to purposely position himself in Pope’s path. After everything was over, Jasprit Bumrah admitted what he did. Richie Richardson, the match referee, approved the punishment.
The ICC sent out a message about this. Jasprit Bumrah broke rule 2.12 from the ICC Conduct Code for Players and Player Support Personnel. This was his first mistake in the past two years. If he makes three more errors in the next two years, he’ll face suspension. This could mean missing a Test or two limited-match games.
Jasprit Bumrah’s off-cutter denies Pope a double century in Hyderabad.
Close to the endgame, Jasprit Bumrah snagged a victory over Ollie Pope. Pope was at the edge of scoring double hundred runs, but fell short by four. Bumrah rolled out a cunning off-cutter at the start of his new round. Pope attempted a tricky reverse scoop, missed entirely, and his off-stump was out of the game.
