Having won the toss the Indian team decided to bat in this knockout match. They got off to a start with Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad forming a century partnership as openers.
However it was mostly Jaiswal who did most of the scoring while Gaikwad played a role contributing with a quickfire 25 off 23 balls before getting dismissed in the tenth over. Unfortunately Tilak Varma struggled during his time at the crease managing two runs off ten deliveries.
Jitesh Sharma, the wicket keeper batsman didn’t stick around for long either. Could only score five runs from four balls. As a result India found themselves at 119/3 after thirteen overs.
Luckily for India, Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh provided needed momentum towards the end of their innings. Their partnership resulted in a fifty two runs off twenty two deliveries.
Dube scored 25 runs from nineteen balls while Rinku Singh emerged as the hero with an outstanding unbeaten thirty seven runs, from just fifteen deliveries.Dipendra Singh, the player who gained attention for his batting stood out as Nepal’s best bowler, with figures of 2/31 in four overs.
