When India began playing against Australia on the third day of the second Test in Delhi, the Australians had a lead of over 60 runs and were looking to take control of the game. However, Ravindra Jadeja was the deciding factor between both teams.
The star performer took an impressive seven wickets in the second innings, limiting Pat Cummins’ team to only 113 runs. This enabled India to win the match by scoring 115 runs in their final innings.
Jadeja was seen exchanging jokes with Australia’s top off-spinner Nathan Lyon during Australia’s first innings. Lyon could be heard on the microphone at the non-striker’s end asking Jadeja to join him on Instagram.
Jadeja has finally granted Lyon’s request, as he is now only following Nathan Lyon’s account on Instagram.
India was very precise with their bowling performance on the third day, not allowing the visitors any break from the beginning of the first session. Australia was trapped under the relentless strain from the Indian bowlers, which was ultimately reflected in how they were dismissed by the Indian spinners, especially Ravindra Jadeja.
Once again, Ravindra Jadeja demonstrated his skill with the ball, decimating Australia’s batting lineup and making it very difficult for them. After getting Usman Khawaja out near the end of the second day, Jadeja disposed of six Australian batters, including Marnus Labuschagne, Peter Handscomb and Alex Carey. As a result of his outstanding performance, he was awarded Player of the Match, as India achieved their goal of 115 runs in 26.4 overs with four wickets lost.
