Reportedly, Jasprit Bumrah’s future in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is uncertain amidst his lengthy injury layoff. Bumrah was ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 due to a back injury and also missed the three-match T20I series against South Africa, as well as several other white-ball series. His last appearance for Team India was in the third T20I against Australia in September 2021. The report states that Bumrah did not receive clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for the three ODIs against Australia in March, and he is unlikely to be fit for the World Test Championship (WTC) final in June, should India qualify. The team management is not willing to rush him ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be held in India. Ultimately, Mumbai Indians (MI) will make the final decision regarding Bumrah’s participation in IPL 2023.
