The Board of Control for Cricket in India chief selector Chetan Sharma has made the headlines this time for all the wrong reasons. He was the central figure in the recently carried out sting operation by the Zee News. In this explosive sting operation, Chetan Sharma has made a shocking revelation about Indian batter & former captain Virat Kohli. According to him, Virat started to consider himself more prominent than the game, which didn’t go down well with the BCCI, which then took advantage of his long out-of-form performance to remove him from the leadership role.
The BCCI chief selector has further revealed that Ganguly had asked Kohli not to quit as T20I skipper in a video conference, but Kohli probably didn’t listen or know about it. Sharma further said that Virat tried to defame Sourav Ganguly in the media during his press conferences by speaking about the change in captaincy ahead of the South Africa tour, as he felt it was Ganguly behind his ODI captaincy sacking.
“Jab player bada ho jaye to usko lagta hai ki vo bahut bada ho gaya hai, board se bhi zyada bada ho gaya. Toh fir usko lagne lagta hai ki mujhe to koi kuch kar nahi sakta. Mere bina to cricket band hi ho jayega India mein. Kabhi Hua hai? Bade bade aaye hai, bade bade gaye hai, cricket to wahi ka wahi rehta hai. Toh vo usne us samay hit marne ki kosish kari president ko.“

(When a player grows in stature, he starts to think that he has become immense, more significant than the board itself. Then he even starts thinking that nobody can do anything to him. Without him, cricket will stop in India. But has that ever happened? Many players came and went, but cricket is still there in India; it remains the same. He wanted to confront the then-BCCI president)
The controversy has fumed the netizens, which is why they are reacting this way on Twitter. Let’s have a look!
