Ravi Bishnoi, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, and Jitesh Sharma are Indian cricketers. After winning the second T20I against Afghanistan, they went to the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. They were there for the ‘Bhasma Aarti.’
Many Hindus consider this temple important. The ‘Bhasma Aarti’ happens here. It makes us think about how life is short and how it begins and ends.
They all had been through the ritual on the Monday after the victory. The win was by six wickets! The location of the temple is next to the sacred river called Shipra. Here, people worship Lord Shiva as Mahakal.
Lastly, they shared a video of the four at the aarti. It quickly spread and many people saw it on social media.
With the exception of Tilak Varma, all four cricket players participated in the second match against Afghanistan.
Sundar went without a wicket in his three overs, Jitesh Sharma was removed for a two-ball duck, and Ravi Bishnoi claimed two vital wickets.
The first T20I didn’t see spinners Bishnoi and Sundar taking wickets. But Tilak and Jitesh stepped up with important short runs – Tilak scored 26 in 22 balls and Jitesh made 31 from 20.
India’s team triumphed in both matches with a good six wickets, claiming a solid 2-0 lead. The last T20I game is set for Bangalore this Wednesday, January 17.
“He will be slightly disappointed that he has not yet sealed his place” – Saba Karim on Tilak Varma
Ex-Indian cricket star Saba Karim thinks Tilak Varma may feel upset for not securing a permanent position in India’s white-ball team.
Even though he’s only played four ODI games, the young 21-year-old has appeared in 16 T20I matches since his first game in August of the previous year. Despite early scores of 39, 51, and an unbeaten 49, Varma has only managed to surpass 50 in one of his most recent dozen batting attempts.
In an interview with Jio Cinemas on Tilak’s benching for the second Twenty20 International, Karim emphasized that the Indian team’s internal rivalry pushes some players to the sidelines more than subpar play.
Tilak’s T20I performance is worth noting. He averages 33.60 and strikes at 139.41 in 16 matches.
Yet, with Kohli and Rohit Sharma back in T20I, and Shivam Dube’s strong display against Afghanistan, Tilak might have a tough time landing a spot in the immediate lineup.
