After a dreadful ODI series in Sri Lanka, the Indian team had been on a break. But now, most of the players are active and are participating in the Duleep Trophy which is about to start on September 5.
The star players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not participating in the Duleep Trophy to spend time with their families.
Indian Cricket Team 2024-2025 Schedule
India vs Bangladesh
Once the Duleep Trophy gets its curtain down, the players will get back to the Indian camp to participate in the Test and T20I series against Bangladesh.
India will host Bangladesh for 2 Tests and 3 T20Is. The Bangladesh visit starts with the Test and the first one will start from September 19 in Chennai. The first T20I against Bangladesh will be on October 6. The India vs Bangladesh series will end with the 3rd and final T20I which will be played on October 12 in Hyderabad.
India vs New Zealand
After the Bangladesh Series, India will host Kiwies for a red-ball series. The series includes 3 Test matches and the first one will commence on October 16 in Bengaluru.
India vs New Zealand series will end with the final Test which will start from November 1.
South Africa vs India
After the home series against Bangladesh and New Zealand, the Men in Blue will play away from home against Proteas. The series will be in the shortest format and will have 4 T20Is.
The first T20I of South Africa vs India will start on November 8 in Durban. The fourth and final T20I will have its faith written on the fields of Johannesburg on November 15.
Australia vs India (Border-Gavaskar Trophy)
India’s biggest test in 2024 will be the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The five-match Test series is known in the names of two legends Allan Border and Sunil Gavaskar. Australia couldn’t beat India in the last two Border-Gavaskar Trophys and will be aiming to erase that shame. India on the other hand will look forward to bagging a hat-trick by winning the series.
Border Gavaskar Trophy will be the last series India will play in 2024. the first Test will commence on November 22 in Perth. the second, third, fourth, and fifth Tests will start on December 6, December 14, and December 26, and January 3 respectively.
India vs England
India will shift into home series at the start of 2025 and the first opponents will be England. the India vs England series will be a long one which will continue till July.
India will play 5 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and 5 Tests against England. The white-ball cricket will be played in India while the red-ball cricket will be hosted by England.
The T20I series starts on 22 January at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The final T20I will be played on February 2 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
After the T20Is, India will play ODIs. The first ODI will be played in Nagpur on February 6. The final ODI will be played 6 days later in Ahmedabad.
Following the One Day Internations, India will have a long Test series which comprises five matches. India will travel to England and the first Test will start its red ball rolling on June 20 in Leeds. The series will continue for more than a month. The fifth and final Test will be played in the Oval on the last day of July.
