In the IPL 2024 game between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday (May 5) at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, PBKS star bowler Harshal Patel got MS Dhoni out for a golden duck. Dhoni faced dismissal by a bowler for the first time this season. In the previous match, he got run out.
Harshal Patel bowled the 19th over. He threw a delivery that moved in on Dhoni’s stumps. Dhoni tried to block it but missed. The ball hit the stumps and he was out.
Interestingly, Harshal did not celebrate the wicket, but PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta was ecstatic. The medium pacer removed Shardul Thakur with a similar delivery.

Harshal described how he defeated MS Dhoni and Thakur in the last over of the Super Kings innings. The 33-year-old stated at the mid-match show:
“It’s all about the feel of that delivery (slower one). More you bowl the better you get. Most batters don’t pick it. Have been practicing in the nets, and when it comes out it gives you great results.”

CSK post 168-run target for PBKS in IPL 2024 match
A skilled batting show from Ravindra Jadeja helped CSK make 167/9 against PBKS in 20 overs. Jadeja got 43 runs off 26 balls. His innings had two sixes and three boundaries. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell also added 32 (21) and 30 (19) runs.
Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar were Punjab’s main wicket-takers, with three each, while Arshdeep Singh had two and skipper Sam Curran had one.
In response, PBKS were 2-0 after one over, with Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh at the crease.
Punjab will try to maintain their winning streak after defeating the Super Kings by seven wickets in their last encounter. They are now seventh in the points rankings, having won four of their ten matches. CSK, on the other side, has won five out of ten encounters.
