Hardik Pandya lets his fans peek into his training routine through social media. On January 31, a Wednesday, he uploaded a video where he is exercising in the gym.
The clip featured the young athlete’s workout. It had tempo breathing, quick walks, cycling, and battling rope exercise. Hardik Pandya wrote this on his post:
Last year, Hardik Pandya joined India’s team for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Yet, an ankle injury during the fourth group game against Bangladesh sidelined him. He couldn’t play for the rest of the event.
The ICC event saw India displaying brilliant performance during the group stage. They entered the final riding a wave of 10 straight wins. But surprising everyone, Australia snatched the trophy by achieving a six-wicket victory in the highlight game.
Due to his injury, Pandya’s been inactive since the 2023 World Cup. A comeback is eyed in IPL 2024.
Mumbai Indians announce Hardik Pandya as new captain for IPL 2024
At the age of 30, he’s back with his first IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians (MI), in time for the upcoming season. This five-time winner brought him onboard via a cash buy-out from Gujarat Titans (GT).
Hardik Pandya once led GT for two years. In their first-ever league attempt in 2022, they swooped the championship under his guidance. They landed a second-place position in the following year’s season.
Mumbai also declared Hardik their new skipper, taking the place of ex-leader Rohit Sharma, who led the side to five IPL titles.
The 2024 IPL season will be a pivotal stage for Hardik Pandya as he prepares for the forthcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.
