Hardik Pandya, an exceptional all-rounder, has returned to rigorous gym sessions. This follows an ankle injury he got at the 2023 ODI World Cup.
He was in his bowling follow-through against Bangladesh when his left ankle got injured. Hardik had to pause his game. He’s 30 years old. The significant event was left without him for the rest of it. Then, the full South African tour was also missed by him.
Hardik Pandya won’t play in the forthcoming three-game T20I series at home against Afghanistan. However, he’s poised to return for the season of IPL.
This star all-rounder shared his intense workout video. He used his Instagram account for this. He added a caption too.
It wasn’t until the World Cup final, when Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne took advantage of India’s absence of a sixth bowling option, that Team India missed Hardik’s services. The Australians were 47/3 in their 241-run chase when the pair put up 192 runs for the fourth wicket.
Renowned for his ability to break ties amongst hitters and get batters out, Hardik’s absence against the hapless Indian onslaught was noted greatly.
Before suffering an ankle injury in the first over of the fourth game against Bangladesh, he took five wickets in his three complete World Cup outings for India.
Hardik Pandya was at the top of the headlines during the IPL off-season
In the IPL off-season, Hardik Pandya created an impression despite not being involved in any on-field activity. The all-around hero made his way back to his old team, the Mumbai Indians, by signing an all-cash contract with the Gujarat Titans (GT). For the next IPL season, Hardik also took over as captain, replacing Rohit Sharma.
Experts and fans had varied reactions to some big news. For the upcoming 2024 IPL auction, MI made room in their salary cap. They did it by trading Australian all-rounder Cameron Green to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). It was an all-cash deal, just like previous ones.
Can you believe it? Mumbai won five IPL titles and Hardik Pandya was a big part of four of them. 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 – what years they were! The surprises didn’t stop there. In 2022, GT took their first IPL title with Hardik Pandya leading the charge. They were so close to a back-to-back win. Alas, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated them at the last moment in the final game.
In related news, Rohit Sharma’s time as MI captain concluded with the talented player guiding the team to all five of their titles from 2013 to 2020.
