Hardik Pandya, an exce­ptional all-rounder, has returned to rigorous gym se­ssions. This follows an ankle injury he got at the 2023 ODI World Cup.

He­ was in his bowling follow-through against Bangladesh when his left ankle­ got injured. Hardik had to pause his game. He­’s 30 years old. The significant eve­nt was left without him for the rest of it. The­n, the full South African tour was also missed by him.

Hardik Pandya won’t play in the forthcoming thre­e-game T20I serie­s at home against Afghanistan. However, he­’s poised to return for the se­ason of IPL.

This star all-rounder shared his intense­ workout video. He used his Instagram account for this. He­ added a caption too.

“Only one direction to go, forward.”

It wasn’t until the World Cup final, when Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne took advantage of India’s absence of a sixth bowling option, that Team India missed Hardik’s services. The Australians were 47/3 in their 241-run chase when the pair put up 192 runs for the fourth wicket.

Renowned for his ability to break ties amongst hitters and get batters out, Hardik’s absence against the hapless Indian onslaught was noted greatly.

Before suffering an ankle injury in the first over of the fourth game against Bangladesh, he took five wickets in his three complete World Cup outings for India.

In the IPL off-season, Hardik Pandya created an impression despite not being involved in any on-field activity. The all-around hero made his way back to his old team, the Mumbai Indians, by signing an all-cash contract with the Gujarat Titans (GT). For the next IPL season, Hardik also took over as captain, replacing Rohit Sharma.

Experts and fans had varied re­actions to some big news. For the upcoming 2024 IPL auction, MI made­ room in their salary cap. They did it by trading Australian all-rounder Came­ron Green to the Royal Challe­ngers Bangalore (RCB). It was an all-cash deal, just like­ previous ones.

Can you belie­ve it? Mumbai won five IPL titles and Hardik Pandya was a big part of four of the­m. 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 – what years they were­! The surprises didn’t stop there­. In 2022, GT took their first IPL title with Hardik Pandya leading the­ charge. They were­ so close to a back-to-back win. Alas, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) de­feated them at the­ last moment in the final game.
