The Mumbai Indians’ skippeÂr, Hardik Pandya, couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity as he got out cheÂaply during their IPL 2024 encounter against Rajasthan Royals. Playing at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Pandya misseÂd a full-toss delivery from Avesh Khan and deÂparted after scoring a mere 10 runs off the same number of balls.
In the 19th over, Avesh bowled a full-toss straight at the middle and leg stump. Unfortunately, Hardik Pandya faileÂd to connect, and the umpire swiftly raiseÂd his finger. Although Hardik Pandya opted for a revieÂw, ball-tracking revealed the dismissal was legitimate, as the deÂlivery would have crashed into the leg stump.

The five-time winners struggled as Hardik Pandya decided to bat first, losing Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan for single-figure scores. Sandeep Sharma, who removed Ishan Kishan, also took the huge wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.
Yuzvendra Chahal went on to take his 200th IPL wicket, dismissing Mohammad Nabi in his opening over. Nonetheless, Nehal Wadhera and Tilak Varma staged a remarkable comeback, scoring 99 runs in 52 deliveries. The former was the leading scorer with 65, while Wadhera fell one run short of a well-deserved half-century.
Sandeep Sharma claimed his maiden IPL fifer to help RR limit MI to 179
Sandeep Sharma, who replaced Kuldeep Sen in the playing XI, was outstanding with the ball in Jaipur tonight. After firing Ishan and Suryakumar, the 30-year-old let go of Tilak Varma and Gerald Coetzee. In the last over, the fifer took Tim David’s wicket. Trent Boult took one wicket, as did Yuzvendra Chahal and Avesh Khan.
The Mumbai Indians fell to the Royals earlier in the competition by six wickets at the Wankhede Stadium, with the former scoring 125 in 20 overs. The Royals are now the top-ranked team, with six victories in seven games, while Mumbai has had a faltering season thus far.
