SunRisers Hyderabad’s Nitish Reddy blasted a six over the bowler’s head. His huge hit won the thrilling IPL match against Chennai Super Kings. Reddy was not out on 14 runs from 8 balls. The comfortable victory occurred at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on April 5.
After the game, Hanuma Vihari praised young Reddy. The veteran batter thinks Reddy could become a future Indian cricket star. Reddy’s clean hitting showcased immense potential on the big stage.

Hanuma Vihari took to the microblogging platform X, writing:
“That was just a glimpse from Nitish. Invest in him. He’s the next big thing not just in franchise cricket. Batter who can bowl medium pace. Rare commodity!”

Hanuma Vihari, who has led Reddy for Andhra in domestic cricket, believes the 20-year-old is a better bowler than most seam-bowling all-rounders in the country.

“He’s a better bowler than all other except Hardik. I’ve captained him in Andhra and seen him grow. So I know a bit.”

Nitish Kumar Reddy signed with the Hyderabad-based franchise for ₹20 lakh and made his IPL debut last year. The bright teenager scored 33* and 55* in SRH’s intra-squad practice matches prior of the current season.
“When MS walked out, it was as loud as I’ve ever heard” – SRH captain Pat Cummins

At the post-match presentation, SRH captain Pat Cummins described how the fans at the Ravij Gandhi Stadium went crazy as MS Dhoni stepped out to bat.
He also remarked that the pitch slowed slightly as the contest continued. Pat Cummins suggested that the Hyderabad bowlers planned to utilize their cutters on the surface.
“Different soil. Slowed up a little bit as the game went on. Shivam was hitting it well against the spin. Thought we’ll take a chance with off-cutters. The first thing is always to get the points. Wouldn’t want to be bowling to him (Abhishek) and Trav Head at the top. The crowd was crazy tonight. When MS walked out, it was as loud as I’ve ever heard.”

Hyderabad presently ranks sixth in the IPL 2024 points table, with two victories and as many defeats.
