Glenn Maxwell struck the winning runs for Australia in the 2023 World Cup final versus India on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 35-year-old aided one to the right of deep mid-wicket and then raced the two to give his team win.
The winning runs were scored in the 43rd over of the innings, as Travis Head holed out to deep mid-wicket off Mohammed Siraj while attempting to strike the winning shot.
Glenn Maxwell, however, did not waste any time. The Australian players swiftly rushed onto the field when the winning runs were scored.

In a neutral tone, the third-person narrative voice tells us that Pat Cummins, the Australian captain, made the decision to bowl first after winning the toss.
Following an aggressive start by the Indian openers, Australia attacked and kept things tight, denying the hosts any breathing space.
Cummins led from the front with 10-0-34-2 stats, including the dismissal of Virat Kohli as the Men in Blue were bowled out for 240 off the last delivery.
Travis Head score 137 before Glenn Maxwell’s Cameo
With his amazing 137, Head helped Australia comeback from a potentially dangerous 47-3 deficit. As he approached his century off 95 deliveries, the left-hander unleashed a premeditated assault on India’s bowlers.
Earlier, the South Australian grabbed a spectacular catch off Glenn Maxwell to dismiss Rohit Sharma, in addition to bowling two economical overs.
Head was named Player of the Match as Cummins became Australia’s fifth World Cup winner, after Allan Border, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, and Michael Clarke.
Australia had a memorable campaign, even though they lost their first two games. Their ninth straight win sealed the deal, with a six-wicket victory.
The Men in Yellow will next face India in a T20I series beginning on November 23.
