Shubman Gill made a joke about a monkey bite during an interview with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday. Rinku Singh acknowledged the occurrence with a flushed face and a laugh but did not elaborate.

It was during the interview when Rinku Singh discussed fitness. He claimed to have worked on it for a while and to constantly remind himself of the significance of fitness in elite cricket. Chaotically, Gill wondered whether it was because a monkey had bitten him as he approached from behind.

“I have got a chance to work with Rahul sir, it’s a really good feeling. Sir has only sasked me to play like I always have and keep believing in myself. He said I have to bat at number five and six which is not easy but I have to keep pushing myself and keep the self-belief high.”
