On Wednesday, December 6, former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir reacted to an argument with S Sreesanth at the Legends League Cricket (LLC) in Surat.
The incident occurred during a game between the India Capitals and the Gujarat Giants. Sreesanth glanced at Gambhir after being hit for a six and boundary and in retaliation, the latter too stared back as the two exchanged a few words. Finally, the referees stepped in to restore peace and restart the game.
In the end, Gambhir’s team won by 12 runs. Sreesanth, on the other hand, accused Gambhir of irritating him and not respecting his colleagues.
Gambhir has now responded to the news with a statement on X (previously Twitter):

Gautam Gambhir led from the start as India Capitals defeated Gujarat Giants by 12 runs. Batting first, the Capitals posted 223/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Gambhir led the way with 51 runs off 30 balls, including one six and seven boundaries. Rayad Emrit and Rajat Bhatia shined with the ball, collecting two wickets apiece.
Despite half-centuries from Chris Gayle and Kevin O’Brien, the Capitals limited Gujarat to 211/7. Gayle hammered 84 off 55 balls, including four sixes and nine boundaries. O’Brien, on the other hand, hammered 57 off 33, including two maximums and seven boundaries.
Rusty Theron and Ishwar Pandey were the standout bowlers, both taking two wickets.

Sreesanth had a career with India where he participated in 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 10 T20Is. He managed to nab a total of 169 wickets. In contrast, Gambhir had involvement in 58 Tests, 147 ODIs, and 37 T20Is playing for India. His career was marked by a massive 10324 runs accumulation. Among these runs, 20 came in tons and 63 in half-centuries.
In the finales of the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup, the southpaw hit big, scoring 75 and 97. These runs helped win the games.
