Stepping up when it mattered most the talented righthander smashed an impressive 104 runs off just 55 balls boasting a remarkable strike rate of 189.09. His explosive innings highlighted by six powerful sixes and nine elegant boundaries not only sealed victory but also marked his fourth IPL century and an astounding 100th ton in the T20 tournament.
Shubman Gill also shared the opening wicket with centurion Sai Sudharsan, scoring 210 runs together. With the century, Gill returned to form after scoring only 67 runs in his previous five IPL innings.
The 24-year-old has scored 426 runs in 12 matches, including a century and three fifties. Gill will now try to extend his purple patch as GT must win their final games to be in the playoff race.
