Jonny Bairstow had another poor game for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Rajasthan Royals (RR). He only scored 15 runs from 19 balls. His total runs in six matches are just 96. Bairstow could not reach double digits in three of the six games. He had a bad run and struggleÂd a lot.
Jonny Bairstow has failed to reach double figures in three of his six outings thus far. With Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh not performing well, PBKS have the tournament’s worst top order. Bairstow missed the entire previous season due to injury and has struggled in all forms in recent years.
The right-handed batter struggled during his time in the crease. With wickets pouring at the other end, Jonny Bairstow had to do more than simply survive. He opened his innings with a boundary off Trent Boult, but he did not accomplish much else.
In the ninth over, he attempted to drive Keshav Maharaj, but the ball was spinning and staying onto the pitch, forcing him to loop it to Shimron Hetmyer at cover.
Fans were outraged at Jonny Bairstow terrible knock, describing him as finished. Here are some reactions on Twitter:
RR well on top after decimating PBKS’ top order including Jonny Bairstow
RR has held a grip over the contest from its inception. Punjab just scored 38 runs in the powerplay and lost one wicket during the session. Their fortunes did not improve throughout the middle overs, as Rajasthan went for the kill.
PBKS couldn’t take the spin barrage and fell from 41/1 to 70/5 in no time. Following Jonny Bairstow’s departure, Punjab’s middle order offered little resistance, with stand-in skipper Sam Curran and Shashank Singh returning to the pavilion after scoring six and nine runs, respectively.
