First time ever, Jasprit Bumrah, India’s star speed pitcher, topped the ICC Test Rankings for bowlers. This rise followed his spectacular play against England in Visakhapatnam’s second Test.
Jasprit Bumrah took nine wickets and won Player of the Match. The performance propelled him up three positions to first place among bowlers in the most recent ICC Test rankings. He has also set a career high of 881 rating points.
Supporters on X (once Twitter) were thrilled when Jasprit Bumrah hit the top spot in the lengthiest game format. Lots of people also cheered on the bowler for being the sole one in the game’s history to hit top rankings across all three formats at least once.

Jasprit Bumrah’s ‘magic’ yorker to Ollie Pope
The one standout highlight of Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in Visakhapatnam was his clean sweep of England vice-captain Ollie Pope in the visitors’ first session. The right-hander was devastated when a blistering inswinging yorker from Bumrah smashed his stumps.
