Rinku Singh, an Indian batter, has been called up for his first One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa in December 2023. Rinku has previously proven his value in T20Is in four innings and has been quite steady in domestic one-day cricket.

Rinku Singh has scored 1844 runs at a terrific average of 49.83 in his 55 List A outings. Rinku, like Tilak Varma, is a left-hander who the Men in Blue are eager to promote in the ODI format.

Rinku Singh can become a reliable finisher for India in ODIs

While Rinku appears to have practically secured his place in the T20 World Cup team, what he can give in ODIs is probably what the Men in Blue have been lacking for quite some time.

The southpaw has demonstrated sufficient coolness while batting in the bottom middle order under duress and has domestic cricket experience, having played in that capacity for Uttar Pradesh.

With Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul remaining the core of the middle order, Rinku might claim the No.6 spot if given a chance in South Africa.
