Ayush Badoni, the LSG playe­r, was out in a debatable way during the match with MI. He­ was run out in the IPL 2024 game on Tuesday at the­ Ekana Cricket Stadium. Some fans did not like the­ third umpire’s call and wrote about it on X. They thought it was an unfair de­cision.

The incident occurred in the late stages of the match, in the nineteenth over. Ayush Badoni responded with a cut shot to the deep cover zone off Hardik Pandya’s short and wide delivery. The hitters finished the first run swiftly and went for the second.

Substitute fielder Naman Dhir made an excellent throw at the striker’s end to keep things intriguing. Wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan eventually dislodged the bails after fumbling initially. Badoni executed a dive and made it across the crease, but his bat exploded into the air.

After reviewing the videos, the third umpire ruled Ayush out because he believed the bat was in the air when the lead stumps lit up. The hitter was stunned by the umpire’s decision and went off the field dissatisfied.

MI batted first after losing the toss. They scored 144/7 in 20 overs, with contributions from Nehal Wadhera (46), Ishan Kishan (32) and Tim David (35*). Mohsin Khan took two wickets for LSG in the bowling department.

Marcus Stonis then set the tone for LSG in the chase, scoring 62 runs and finishing third. The hosts lost a few of fast wickets in the end, which kept the game interesting.

Ayush Badoni smashed a four in the 18th over, as well as a four via leg byes, to make things even easier. Nicholas Pooran (14*) remained cool after departing in the following over and effectively completed the chase in 19.2 overs.
