Riyan Parag batted for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday. The right-handed hitter scored an undefeated 84 runs off 45 balls with a strike rate of 186.67 in an innings that included six maximums and seven boundaries.

Parag’s knock came after RR were reduced to 36/3 in only 7.2 overs. He formed 50-plus partnerships with Ravichandran Ashwin and Shimron Hetmyer to help the Royals set a challenging goal. He smashed 25 runs off Anrich Nortje in the last over to seal a flawless victory for his team.

The Assam-born hitter signed a contract of ₹3.4 crore for the 2024 season. This happened despite his failure to perform in the previous five IPL seasons. Last year, Parag scored only 78 runs in seven innings.

Riyan Parag is now repaying the Jaipur-based franchise for their steadfast faith over the previous three seasons. He had previously scored 43 off 29 balls against Lucknow Super Giants, helping his team win their first game of the season by 20 runs.
