Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis is renowned for his electrifying fielding prowess. He’s pulled off some jaw-dropping catches over the years. On Tuesday, April 2, Faf du Plessis showcased his brilliance once more during RCB’s clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Adding another spectacular effort to his impressive repertoire.

Ayush Badoni was new to the crease and eager to get a huge shot straight immediately, considering it was the tail end of LSG’s innings. Yash Dayal bowled a slow delivery into the pitch, away from Badoni’s striking arc. The hitter attempted to move closer to the pitch in order to flat-bat it over the covers, but he was unable to center it.

The ball was lobbed over the short covers, but Faf du Plessis tracked the direction and executed a superb dive to complete a stunning catch. Glenn Maxwell congratulated the RCB captain on his grab and embraced him.

The wicket hampered Lucknow’s momentum, as they appeared to be on track to finish with a total of 200 or higher. Dayal was thrifty again, finishing with figures of 1/24 from four overs.

South African opener Quinton de Kock got LSG off to a great start, scoring 81 runs off 56 balls. He scored eight fours and five sixes. Marcus Stoinis also contributed with a useful cameo of 24(15), and LSG appeared to be poised to alter gears in the final five overs.

However, the hosts rallied back, returning both set hitters to the pavilion. Maxwell (2/23) dismissed Marcus Stoinis, while Reece Topley removed De Kock’s scalp. Nicholas Pooran’s 40-run burst at the conclusion helped the Super Giants extend their lead to 181/5 following Bengaluru’s comeback.
