Faf du Plessis, skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), announced his desire to hit a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 before their game against Mumbai Indians.

Du Plessis has been outstanding for his team. He is now the RCB’s highest run-scorer and the only player in the tournament to score more than 500 runs.

With the help of five fifty-plus scores, the RCB opener has scored 511 runs in 10 innings at an average of 56.78 and a strike rate of 157.72.

Du Plessis has five hundred to his record in the game’s shortest format, including one in T20 Internationals. He has yet to record a three-figure score in the IPL.

South Africa’s top score in the league is 96, which He scored against the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2019. Faf du Plessis addressed RCB about his desire for a century in the IPL:

“I have really been quite intentional about trying to get hundreds. Finding gears I can work through that mid innings period and try to get an innings as we can get 75 plus.”

Faf added:

“In the past, I always felt like I had a decent attacking game but I felt like there was another gear in terms of taking your strike rate from 130 to 150. At least sometimes 160 to 170 so I have worked on that a lot.”
