The squad is currently immersed in arduous training sessions for their impending showdown at the 2024 T20 World Cup. A highstakes encounter against traditional rivals Pakistan looms large this Sunday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Rishabh Pant enthusiastically took to Instagram sharing a captivating image story giving fans a glimpse of the backstage hustle. The picture showcased Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav in animated conversation with Pant engrossed in a discussion with the captain. Noteworthy allrounder Ravindra Jadeja also featured prominently in the frame.

Dinesh Karthik the former Indian wicketkeeper personally believed that Rishabh Pant may find it challenging to transition back to highpressure tournaments like the IPL after more than 14 months away from active play.
Pant, on the other hand, jumped right in and did an excellent job for the Delhi Capitals. He scored 446 runs in 13 matches, becoming his franchise’s highest run-scorer.
Karthik told Cricbuzz:
“I genuinely thought walking into the IPL it could be very hard for him (Rishabh Pant) because of his recovery, and if you don’t play for a year, the feel of playing matches, you lose it a lot. It takes time and IPL is such a quick and high-paced tournament, you need to get on the run right away. I thought it was going to be hard, but the way he has done it, credit to him, hats off. He is a deserving candidate and now you can see why people rate him so highly.”

On Pant’s undefeated knock of 36 (26) in a match-winning effort against Ireland, Dinesh Karthik continued:
“It’s a great sign for India because left-hander, top of the order, taking on bowlers, plays spin brilliantly, and he is one of those guys if he gets going, he will win you a game comfortably. Couldn’t be happier for him. This guy, even though it was not big in terms of volume, just his method to reach that score was brilliant.”
