England’s Cricket Team has opted for right-hand batter Dan Lawrence to step in for Harry Brook in the forthcoming line-up of five Test matches in India. According to a statement from the England Cricket Board (ECB), Lawrence is set to integrate with the team in a day’s time.
Harry Brook, traditionally in the middle-order, is heading back to England due to some personal issues. This means he’ll miss out on every Test match. Brook, aged 24, delivered outstanding performances during the tri-Test journey through Pakistan in the season of 2022-23. His average was above 90, proudly carrying three centuries to his name.

In response to Harry Brook’s unavailability, the ECB issued a statement saying:
“Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men’s Test tour of India. The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time.”
