Dinesh Karthik had made his all-time XI, and fans found a major missing piece in it. Dinesh had left time for MS Dhoni, who is arguably the greatest captain that India has had.
Fans weren’t happy about it, and Karthik had to come up to apologize. DK said that it was a mistake and not intentional.
DK Apologises for Not Picking Dhoni in His All-Time XI
Karthik, who had left out MS Dhoni, had Rahul Dravid in the team. This brought fans to the conclusion that he picked a part-time wicketkeeper, Rahul Dravid, over MS Dhoni to keep behind the stumps. Karthik soon understood the ‘blunder’
Karthik said that he ‘forgot the wicketkeeper while selecting the team’.
“I made a mistake as I forgot the wicket-keeper while selecting the team. Rahul Dravid was there, and fans thought I wanted a part-time wicketkeeper. I am a wicket-keeper myself but failed to pick one in my team. It was a blunder,” DK said on Cricbuzz.
Karthik praised MS by saying, ‘He is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game’. He said that he would include Dhoni in his XI at No. 7 if he changed his team.
“Dhoni would be there in any team. He is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game. If I had to make one change in my team, I would include Dhoni at number 7. He will be the captain of any Indian team,” he added.
