Dinesh Karthik, a veteran wicketkeeper-batter, has lavished praise on Team India, saying the present roster the greatest the country has ever had.
Perhaps the finest team in the current ODI World Cup is the one playing for the Men in Blue. They have won each of their first eight league games, and they are unblemished in the prestigious tournament. They have so solidified their position atop the points table.
Dinesh Karthik referred to the current Indian team as the greatest to have ever represented the nation in an interview with Cricbuzz.
“I’m going out on a limb to say this but this Indian team is probably the strongest team that India has ever had in ODIs,” Karthik said. “In World Cups for sure. There’s no Indian team that has dominated like this current 2023 team.
“You have to pit it against other Indian teams which have done very well but it will run other teams very close to it being the greatest ODI team ever in terms of performances and pressure.”

Dinesh Karthik Warns About the Toss Factor in Wankhede Semi-Final Due to Dew
Team India will almost certainly meet their foe New Zealand in the semi-finals. The two sides met in the previous ODI World Cup top-four showdown, with the Kiwis defeating Virat Kohli and company to reach their second straight final.
Dinesh Karthik believes the toss will be important at the Wankhede Stadium.
“It’s in Mumbai, the first big decision, if they win the toss, will be if they would bat first or bowl first because there will be dew but then they will have to get past that first spell,” he continued. “The first 10 overs the ball swings and moves. There’s no question what the level is going to be till the finals. It’s going to be the same XI. Every players has ticked the box and is looking good for the semis.”

On November 15, the Wankhede Stadium will host the first semi-final.
Meanwhile, on November 16 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, South Africa and Australia will square off in the second semi-final.
