Dhruv Jurel, a young wicketkeeper-batsman, and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal indulged in some good banter ahead of India’s third Test against England, in which the former would most likely make his international debut.
In a video released by the BCCI on Wednesday, February 14, Dhruv Jurel failed to answer the introductory questions. When Jaiswal made fun of him, he reddened and said, “Isko hatao” (Get him out of here).
Dhruv Jurel then spoke briefly about his interests, which included ‘being alone’. He also described his ‘nervous’ sentiments about obtaining a seat on the team bus while the majority of the squad’s senior members had their seats reserved.

At 23, Jurel ascended from India’s Under-19 squad, shining brightly in his initial 15 top-tier games. For the first couple of Tests, India chose KS Bharat as the main wicket-keeper. Although the Andhra player carried out his role decently, he failed to expand upon good starts with the bat in all four rounds.
According to media reports since the game in Visakhapatnam, the team management does not want to continue with Bharat and feels that giving Jurel his debut will enhance the batting order.
Dhruv Jurel’s emotional tribute to his father ahead of his likely debut
Jurel also stated that if he receives his debut cap in Rajkot on Thursday, he would dedicate it to his father, Nem Singh Jurel, who was previously opposed to his participating in any sport as a child but is now his staunch supporter.
While Jurel is not going to debut in Rajkot, Sarfaraz Khan could as well do his debut in this particular place.
