Australia ended the second day of the test on a very good note but what happened after that was a complete nightmare for them. The third day began with a score of 61 for 1, but soon the entire Australian innings collapsed within a span of 52 runs. R Ashwin began the collapse on the third morning with the dismissal of Travis Head in the very first over of the day before R Jadeja showed his magical spell and raced to his career-best of 7 for 42 as Australia tried to tackle the Indian spinners with playing sweep and reverse-sweep and lost six of their batsmen in the process. Here’s how the wickets fell.

12.6 edged, caught behind! Nicely tossed up on off, brings Head forward to defend. He is not fully forward, lunges out, the ball pitches short of the bat and turns away to take the thin outside edge, well-held by Srikar Bharat.

A Stunning 18.6 – LBW Not Enough! Smith goes for a big sweep and misses; even though the wicket is the umpire’s call, it has gone in favour of India.

Momentous Triumph: 21.4 is Here! Bowled!! Labuschagne has been done by the arm ball. The ball skids through and keeps low as well

Another Sweep, Another LBW – 22.6! Goes for the sweep, misses and wastes a review as well.

One More Down – 23.1 and Beyond! Caught by Kohli. Takes the edge and is snaffled at slip. This is folding up fast.

23.2 Drinks Break Over and Jadeja Strikes! Cummins tries a big slog but misses the ball altogether. It’s the low bounce once again.

27.1 Carey’s Reverse Sweep of Success. These are his go-to shots. Another try for a reverse sweep and another batsman pays the price. No real turn on the ball and the leg stump is knocked out.

Jadeja’s Sixth Wicket: A 29.5 Moment! Bowled! Lyon goes for a big drive and swings the bat hard, but it takes the thick inside edge and crashes into the leg stump.
