Deepak Chahar, the Chennai Super Kings bowler, has claimed that he now needs to look to both former captain MS Dhoni and current captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for bowling instructions.
In response to Sunil Gavaskar’s inquiry on who he turns to for fielding orders following the shift in CSK’s leadership, the 31-year-old remarked (via official broadcasters Jio Cinema),
Highlighting the positives of the newly implemented rule in the 2024 IPL, which enables a bowler to deliver two bouncers in an over instead of one, Deepak Chahar said that the new playing circumstances will not allow batters to predict the bowler’s action. He opened up by saying:
CSK continue their winning run in the 2024 IPL with a huge win over Gujarat Titans
After being assigned to bat first, the Chennai Super Kings got off to a flying start with southpaw Rachin Ravindra’s blitzkrieg, 46(26), which featured six fours and three sixes, helping them amass 62 runs for the first wicket stand during the powerplay.
Ruturaj’s responsible innings, along with Shivam Dube’s quickfire half-century, saw the hosts end at 206-6 in 20 overs.
Chasing a challenging goal of 207 runs for their second consecutive victory of the season, the Gujarat Titans lost both of their openers inside five overs. Local kid Sai Sudharsan once again led Shubman Gill’s side with a 31-ball 37-run performance, but it was insufficient for the 2022 IPL winners, who lost by 63 runs.
The same evening, the titans will have Hyderabad Sunrisers on their home turf while the yellow army will face Delhi Capitals at Visakhapatnam ground at 7:30 pm IST.
