Ex-West Indies team leader Clive Lloyd believes Virat Kohli has the potential to beat Sachin Tendulkar’s milestone of 100 international centuries. Lloyd says that seeing Virat Kohli’s performance, he could accomplish anything.
At 35, Virat Kohli stands second in scoring maximum centuries in international cricket. He’s scored 80 centuries in 520 matches in all formats. Sachin Tendulkar, on the other hand, leads with 100 centuries from 664 games.

During a recent gathering in Kolkata, Lloyd was questioned about Virat Kohli’s probability of exceeding Tendulkar’s record of international centuries.
“I do not know about the period, but he is young enough, and I am sure that the way he is playing he can achieve anything he wants to achieve, and it would be something to be quite happy to achieve.”
Clive Lloyd
Last year, during India’s exciting ODI World Cup, Virat Kohli shone brightly. He made a whopping 765 runs in 11 innings! His average was impressive, at 95.62. Besides, he boasted a strike rate of 90.32. He scored three centuries and hit the half-century mark six times. The performance was memorable.
There was a showdown in Mumbai, a semi-final battle with New Zealand. Something incredible happened here. Virat Kohli took his score beyond Tendulkar’s 49 ODI tons. Yes, you read that right! He became the first man to score 50 centuries in Men’s one-day internationals. What a feat!
Brian Lara doubts Virat Kohli’s ability to surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 centuries record

Prior to Lloyd, West Indian cricket icon Brian Lara offered another perspective regarding Virat Kohli’s chances to overtake Tendulkar’s international ton record of 100. He suggested that the task of scoring 20 hundreds appears quite distant, especially when taking Kohli’s age, 35, into account.
“How old is Kohli now? 35, right? He has 80 but still needs 20. If he scores five centuries every year he’d need four more years to equal Tendulkar. Kohli will be 39 then. Tough job, very tough job.”
Brian Lara

Brian Lara Added:
“Can’t say with certainty, no one can. Those saying Kohli will break Tendulkar’s 100-centuries record won’t be taking cricketing logic into account. 20 centuries seem a long way away. Most cricketers can’t score that in their entire career. I won’t be adventurous and say Kohli will do it. Age doesn’t stop for anyone.”
Brian Lara
Virat Kohli ranks fourth in international cricket currently, boasting 26,704 runs. He has played 520 matches, achieved 80 centuries and made 139 half-centuries.
