Jasprit Bumrah, Team India pacer, is going under rehabilitation and is still waiting for clearance from National Cricket Academy(NCA) to make his return in full-action mode.
Considering his Health and rehab, he was excluded from the final two tests and the three-match ODI series against Australia, which will be in March.
According to a report, Bumrah has started his practice sessions, and the coaches are concentrating on his fast recovery, considering the (IPL) Indian Premier League, which is in 2023. The (BCCI) Board of control for cricket in India, considering the IPL, will not try to hold back Bumrah from representing the (MI) Mumbai Indians. Still, it will be challenging, too, as coaches are instructed to monitor his workload closely.
The report also states that it is yet to be seen how the five-time IPL champions view the possibility of Bumrah being closely monitored, which is essential for MI considering their last performance in the IPL, where they finished bottom of the table.
In the last Annual General Meeting of BCCI, an opinion was made for the NCA coaches to monitor the player’s workload closely. A Close eye will be held on Bumrah, and the same will be done for all the other players.
Bumrah last played for India in September 2022. His last appearance was made in the home series against Australia. However, considering his Health, he was ruled out from the other match, which was T20 WORLD CUP 2022.
Further, he was also included in the squad for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka at home. However, he had to withdraw as he still felt stiffness while bowling in the Net.
After missing the Australia Series, Bumrah will likely return directly to the IPL. However, with the playing 14 matches, BCCI is concerned about exacerbating the injury, considering the (WTC) World Test Championship final in England in June 2023 and the ODI World cup at the end of the year.
How many matches will the player get to play in 2023? Let’s see.
