For the remaining 2023 World Cup matches, the BCCI has prohibited fireworks at the Wankhede Stadium and the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The restriction is being implemented due to the deterioration of air quality in megacities like as Mumbai and Delhi.
The 2023 World Cup in India often features fireworks. They’re a key part of celebrations, mainly when India plays. The Men in Blue are set to face Sri Lanka in Mumbai next, on November 2nd. However, there won’t be any fireworks after this match.
Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will also host the match between Australia and Afghanistan, as well as Team India’s semifinal match. There will be no fireworks now because of the restriction.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium will host one more match on November 6, against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Jay Shah continued by adding that the BCCI wants to celebrate cricket in a big way, but they don’t want to harm the environment in the process.
India Ready for World Cup Challenge against Sri Lanka in Mumbai
India’s cricket team is now in Mumbai, set for their seventh league round game in the 2023 World Cup. Their opponents? Sri Lanka. They battled it out here in the memorable 2011 World Cup final. It’s been 12 years since that epic match.
India’s victory would secure their semifinals spot, while Sri Lanka’s loss might lead to their elimination. The suspense rises for tomorrow’s face-off. Who will emerge victorious? Only time will tell.
