BCCI has publicized a notice on their website reÂgarding the head coach position. IntereÂsted candidates can submit their applications by May 27 2024. Notably the current head coach Rahul Dravid has the option to reÂapply for the role.
The minimum requirements for application are 30 Test appearances, 50 ODI matches, or two years of experience as the head coach of a full member Test playing nation. Candidates with three years of coaching experience for an IPL franchise, an associate nation, or a first-class team are also eligible to apply. The BCCI also requires that the candidate be under the age of 60.
The BCCI issued a statement on its website on the head coach application.
Rahul Dravid took over as the current coach with a twoyear contract succeeÂding Ravi Shastri post the 2021 T20 World Cup. Following the 2023 ODI World Cup he reÂceived a sixmonth exteÂnsion to lead the proceeÂdings of the 2024 T20 World Cup as well.
The job deÂscription specifies that the succeÂeding head coach is set to reÂceive a threeÂandahalfyear contract concluding at the end of 2027 in line with the schedule for the forthcoming ODI World Cup.

The post also states that Team India is searching for a single coach to manage all three forms, rather than divide coaching like England, South Africa, and Pakistan have done in recent years.
