On Friday (October 20), an Australian cricket fan screamed ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ (translated ‘Hail Mother India’) during Australia’s 2023 World Cup match against Pakistan at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Australia secured a convincing 62-run victory against Pakistan, propelling them to the fourth position in the points table after being in the lower half for the previous week.
From the stands at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Australian supporters watched the high-scoring encounter. One of them also interacted with the Indians surrounding him and expressed his admiration for the host country. He led the way by screaming ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ while other Indians around joined in, resulting in raucous chants during Friday’s World Cup play.

Warner, Marsh and Zampa power Australia to victory over Pakistan in Bengaluru
After losing the toss, Australia batted first in the match. Openers David Warner (163) and Mitchell Marsh (121) both scored hundreds to help their team to a massive total of 367/9.
At one point, it appeared like they would easily score more than 400 points, but Pakistani bowlers brought things back in the last overs. With a 5-wicket haul, Shaheen Afridi led the way for them.
In response, Pakistan’s hitters showed promise, keeping their team in the hunt for nearly 35 overs. However, their lineup disintegrated in the final inning and they were all-out for 305. Adam Zampa, a leg-spinner, claimed four important wickets to ruin the pursuit.
