Aryan Dutt of the Netherlands recently expressed his intention to remove Indian sensation Virat Kohli. He went on to say that it would be his finest present for the 2023 World Cup.
On November 12, India and the Netherlands will face off in the last round-robin encounter in Bengaluru.
While Kohli has been in magnificent form in the World Cup so far, amassing 354 runs in six games at an average of 88.50, Dutt has done an admirable job bowling in the powerplay. Nonetheless, the 20-year-old has impressed with his precise lines and lengths, picking up eight wickets in six appearances at an economy rate of less than five runs per over.
On the sidelines of an event on Tuesday, October 31, Dutt mentioned Virat Kohli as a target and a role comparable to Deepak Patel in New Zealand’s 1992 World Cup.
Dutt went on to say that he believes in his abilities to fool the hitters.
Aside from his economical bowling, Aryan Dutt has contributed important lower-order runs, allowing the Netherlands to overtake South Africa and Bangladesh.
Despite making it through the qualifications, the Dutch team has astonished experts and fans alike with their battling spirit, giving them a chance to go to the semi-finals.
Currently seventh with two victories in six games, the Netherlands will need to win all three remaining games and hope for a few favorable results.
“Dhoni has been a guiding force” – Aryan Dutt
Aryan Dutt also mentioned former Indian captain MS Dhoni as a guiding inspiration, whose 2011 World Cup success pushed him to pursue a cricket career.
Dutt was just eight years old when Dhoni’s Team India won their second World Cup on home soil 12 years ago.
Aryan Dutt praised Dhoni and the Indian team after recalling India’s World Cup triumph in 2011.
The 20-year-old was also optimistic about the Netherlands’ next opponent, Afghanistan, and stressed the team’s will to reach the semi-finals.
Afghanistan, like the Netherlands, has stunned everyone with their World Cup performances, winning half of their six games.
On Friday, November 3, the two teams will square off in a hypothetical must-win game in Lucknow.
